Course is absolutely amazing and it couldn't be a more beautiful day to play. Thank you Todd Yoshitake for your hospitality and efforts to bring a successful event. And congratulations to the SCPGA for raising over $39K.
I had the low gross score of 69 (-3) with 4 skins (birdies). Definitely not bad for my first Riviera experience. Unfortunately, there were a TON of birdies made so the pot had to be split on most all holes. There was even a hole-in-one. Can't complain, had a blast. Thank you for all those who helped me into the event! Back-to-back wins!
Improved on his tournament score by shooting 31, besting his 7-8 age group by seven shots! Madden's 31 tied the 2nd lowest score (lowest was 30) among the entire tournament field which included high school competitors up to age 18. KEEP UP THE HARD WORK! 2/24/2013 MADDEN WIN'S HIS FIRST TOURNAMENT!
Congratulations to Madden for winning his first junior golf tournament at Rancho Park Par-3 Golf Course.
He shot a 5 over 34 to edge his competitors by a shot in the 7-8 yr old division. He finished 3rd overall among other age groups. He had 2 doubles, 2 bogies, 2 pars, and 1 smooth birdie. Proud of you buddy! 2/3/2013 M-TOUR WIN
Glad taking the day off paid off. Edged the pack by 1 shot. Nice way to start off the holiday season.
JIN PARK QUALIFIES FOR PGA TOUR
Congrats to Jin Park for qualifying onto the 2013 season of the PGA Tour. His -22 finish put him tied for 7th, good enough to make the top 25 of the final Q-School class.
FINAL SCORES Little junior golf history...At the tender age of 11, I went into my first 1st place playoff against Jin. He beat me with a birdie on the first playoff hole and I took my first 2nd place trophy. The Southern California Junior Golf program is an elite platform where many of the PGA Tours greats are found. Phil Mickelson, Hunter Mahan, and of course Tiger Woods are some of the most notable. Many of us still keep in touch and remember the days where we fought and forged our friendships and competitive fire on the course. I'm proud to have been a part of this organization and am proud of those who have been able to fulfill their dream to play on the PGA Tour. Go get em Jin!!! PGA MEMBER VERIFICATION
Ever wanted to find out if your instructor is truly a member of the PGA? You can verify their status by entering their 8 digit membership number in the search field found at this link:
http://www.pgalinks.com/patinfo/membersearch.cfm Not having a membership number would be your first indication that they're not an official part of the PGA. Here's mine: 27207160 PGA MEMBERSHIP REINSTATED
I've officially been reinstated to the PGA as an Apprentice thanks in part to my head professional status at Rancho Park Golf Course. Level 1 testing will commence in February.
APPOINTED TO HEAD PRO
Rancho Park Golf Course has accepted my request for the head professional position! With this new position, the PGA has reinstated my apprenticeship status.
New rates TBA. RANCHO PARK GOLF RANGE TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE [CORRECTION]
The exact date has not yet been determined by management. Last rumor sets the date to December. Until there is actual notification from the city, I cannot confirm the true date of closure. The only thing that is apparent is the closure will eventually happen and the range will be renovated.
There have been notifications that the driving range at Rancho Park will temporarily close for renovations. Exact details have yet to be disclosed but rumors suggest they will be closing sometime in DECEMBER, and stay closed for up to two months. Suggested renovations may include: new taller fencing with leveled and AstroTurf field. Temporary hitting net may be available for the interim. A temporary location for the instructors may not be available but I will have a secondary location once the Rancho renovation dates are set. Course, chipping, and putting lessons will still be available at Rancho Park Golf Course. |
